SEQH delivers pipe for revolutionary waste solution
An ongoing job for SEQH has been the delivery of special pipe that will act as a runway for an underground waste solution to the Maroochydore CBD area (Sunshine Coast).
“Rather than using wheelie bins, waste will be transported from commercial buildings and apartments at up to 70kmh through a 6.5km system of underground vacuum pipes located beneath Australia’s newest city centre.”
Our involvement in this project includes the following steps:
- Collect the 40ft containers from the Port of Brisbane wharf;
- Unpack the 40ft containers of pipe sitting in crates & de-hire the shipping container;
- Deliver the pipe in crates to Maroochydore upon request.
The way this pipe has been packaged is certainly worth a special mention. The pipe has been packaged together on a timber skid with chocks between each row and restrained altogether. This has saved a lot of time and money as it is not required to handle the pipe individually and pipe bollards on the truck was not required. As an example, the above load was a two lift operation for the 40+ pipe on board. Not only did it save time and money on this occasion but also when the container was packed and then unpacked.
