The birth of the Single Axle A-Double
In the early 2000’s, SEQH partnered with Haulmark Trailers to pioneer the industry by creating the A-Double road train. The A-Double has a gross capacity of 85 tonne and spans 29.95m in length. This unit has the ability to cart 2 x loaded 40ft/20ft containers or 4 x empty 20ft containers which makes light work of a large volume of containers.
Our business (which has been created by design) is headquartered in Hemmant which is 10mins from the Port of Brisbane terminals. We are positioned ‘off-island’ so we own our own land and use the A-Doubles to cart import and export containers between the port and our depot. In 2011 we strategically set up a depot in Toowoomba and use our A-Doubles to run between the depots which yet again, makes light work of a large volume of containers.
In 2017, innovation has happened again! Working with Haulmark Trailers, Brett (MD) and Owen (GM) have once again pioneered the industry by developing these PBS approved single axle A-Doubles which will cart empties – 2 x 40ft containers or 4 x 20ft containers.
